Prenatal Care

Prenatal care is at the heart of midwifery, and we take pride in offering our clients individualized, fulfilling, and exceptional care throughout pregnancy. Our clients are seen by all of our providers, and rotate prenatal visit appointments among the midwives. By the time you reach labor, you and your family will know each of our CNMs personally, have built relationships with the staff, and may see the birth center as your second home.

We typically see clients for a new OB visit at around 10-12 weeks gestation. However, we do accept clients who are transferring care from another provider, even late in pregnancy!

Schedule of Care

Each woman and pregnancy is unique, and the schedule of care may change depending on your unique needs. However, appointments are generally scheduled at intervals of increasing frequency as pregnancy progresses.

• Every 4 weeks from 1st trimester-28 weeks
• Every 2 weeks from 28 weeks-36 weeks
• Weekly from 36 weeks-41 weeks
• Every 2 days from 41-42 weeks

Services offered during pregnancy

We are able to provide almost all of the recommended pregnancy screenings in-house, with the exception of a comprehensive anatomy ultrasound* (or 20-week sonogram). Some of these include:

• Routine lab draws
• Genetic screening
• Gestational diabetes screening
• Non-stress tests
• Limited ultrasound for baby’s position

*We collaborate with compassionate, and talented OB/GYN and Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) physicians, who are able to seamlessly provide comprehensive ultrasound services to our clients
