Dr. Alisha McCullough, DNP, CNM

Alisha McCullough is a Certified Nurse Midwife with over 20 years of experience in nursing, dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care rooted in cultural humility. Alisha’s nursing career spans pediatric critical care and labor and delivery.

Her passion for maternal-child health led her to serve as a midwifery intern at a free-standing birth center in the

Philippines, where she helped deliver respectful, evidence-based care to underprivileged women and families. That experience, paired with the stark racial disparities in maternal morbidity and infant mortality in the U.S., set her on the path to becoming a midwife.

Alisha earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Midwifery from Baylor University and has now been a Certified Nurse Midwife for four years, caring for families across both out-of-hospital birth settings and hospital-based care. She is proficient in advanced fetal heart monitoring, neonatal resuscitation, and advanced cardiac life support, and is passionate about helping

families achieve the childbirth education and empowered birth experience they deserve.

Alisha also teaches the next generation of nurses as a clinical instructor. Outside of work, she is married and a mom of two — a seven-year-old and a one-year-old
